    A smarter back pain device

The Back Pedal launches on Kickstarter January 9th. The Back Pedal was invented by Dr. Chris Beddoe, Doctor of Physical Therapy, first, to help patients in his care and now to help those looking for a better solution to their back pain, hip pain, and sciatica pain.

The device was designed and created based on clinical techniques Physical Therapists and Chiropractors use in their clinics to treat their patients’ pain. This is the first device of its kind that uses the re-adjustment, strengthening, and stabilizing techniques used in the clinic and brings them into your home to use on your own. Saving you time and money without having to go to the clinic.

“The Back Pedal is a revolutionary way to address the underlying causes of back, hip, and sciatic pain.” Says Dr. Beddoe, DPT “This device may look a little unorthodox, but the science behind the techniques it is facilitating is used by Physical Therapists and Chiropractors in the clinic to treat patients. The case studies that back up that science prove the reliability of the science, as well as the testimonials from people who have already used The Back Pedal and have been helped prove the effectiveness and validity of The Back Pedal! This is why Chiropractors and Physical Therapists are using The Back Pedal and why you should use it for preventive measures before you have pain and definitely use it if you have back pain, hip pain, or sciatica!”

The backpedal is lightweight, weighing 1.1 pounds, is approximately 31 inches in length with curved sections and pads for your legs/thighs. The backpedal is used by laying on your back, bending your knees and placing between your legs. The pads should be against your thighs, one on the front of the thigh and the other on the back of the opposite thigh. Bring your legs up off of the floor and using your legs, not your hands, push and pull with your legs in opposite directions. Holding this isometric contraction for 5 seconds. Repeat 2 x and then adjust the device to change directions of the leg movements and perform 2 more times. To be performed 1-2x/day for 2 weeks for best results.

“when we isometrically contract muscles in opposite legs in opposite directions of each other we create a co-contraction force that re-aligns the two sides of the pelvis back into their correct position.” Dr. Beddoe, DPT says “This frees up movement and changes the angle of the spine creating a better distribution of force up through the spine and down through the legs while strengthening the muscles and stabilizing the joints in the back, hip, and pelvis alleviating the pain.”

The Back Pedal is available to back now on Kickstarter. They are hopeful to see an increase in pledges and ship out to all backers at the beginning of March. The starting price for one unit is $35 for Early Bird Pledges.
